Welcome!

Welcome to the Introduction to XML Course. Here you learn about creating Wellformed XML documents, creating documents that can be used to present your XML documents in a web browser in a user-friendly format, and creating different types of grammar documents which will be used to validate XML documents.

You have a choice of three different textbooks that you may choose from to accompany you through the course. These include Real World XML by Steven Holzner, XML Companion by Neil Bradley and The Complete XML Specification by Kenneth Sall. You will also be required to complete a series of Assignments, a Project, a Midterm exam and a Final Exam. Everything that you require with the exception of the textbook and your unix account can be found in this website.

As a final note, I wish you the best of luck throughout this course. Now lets get started!

Sincerely,
Marie Taylor-Harper
